Gmail Setup

On Chatrena

1. Integrations > Gmail (Email Marketing) > Sign in with Google

2. Select a desired Gmail account and allow "Chatbot App" to connect

Once done, it should look like this:

Enable the two-factor authentication

1. Click on your Google profile icon

2. Manage your Google Account

Generate the App Specific Passwords

1. Search for the “App Passwords”

1. Type in a desired app name. E.g. Chatrena

1. Copy the generated password

Back on Chatrena

1. Integrations > SMTP Profile

2. Fill in the details as follows

   • SMTP server - smtp.gmail.com

   • Port - 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)

   • Encryption - SSL/TLS

   • User name - The email address you used to generate the app password

   • Password - The app password you copied from the steps above

   • Sender email - Any email address from your business domain. E.g. [email protected] or [email protected]

   • Sender name - Any name paired to pair with the sender email. E.g. John Smith or Jian Hao

SSL has been deprecated since 2015. TLS is considered to be the most reliable development in email encryption.

Send Email Notification

After setup your email integration, you can select it as a sender in your "Email Profile" list. Check how to send email notification?
